Gindai Sterling Silver Post Earrings
Gindai Sterling Silver Post Earrings
The fish used in these Gindai earrings was caught off the Maui coast by Capt. Amanda Padilla of Kapa Sungear.
Gindai is the Japanese name for this fish, meaning “gold snapper” likely because of its golden yellow bars.
Kapa’s mission is promoting covering up not lathering on, less sunscreen for healthier seas. They plant Kaho’olawe through their Buy One Plant One initiative. Kapa also sells beautiful face shields you can check out here and keep an eye out for the launch of UPF40 arm sleeves coming in May.
Salty Sisters Designs is a collaborative product of family, friends, and fishermen all over the world. We offer sustainable jewelry using fish leather. Each piece is unique, and all of the fish are sustainably caught, hand-cut, cured and designed. No two pieces are alike, and no fish is caught for the sole purpose of the fish skin.
